Taken to another world

I see a door
I don’t need to stay here anymore
Just want to see what’s in the other mind
Open up the porthole to the sea
Take a ride
See who I will be
On the other side of the sea

That I see when I’m awake

In the dark we fear nothing.
(Push it all past the edge)
We are the midnight sounds
Not at all in your head
(And your eyes look at nothing)
As we drift through your sleep.
Mindless as a ghost
Are ghosts really mindless?
Do they need to escape
From the timeless
Go back inside
Back away from my form
Already gone
But that’s no matter now
I miss you, I need you
We are all to collapse,
The beauty of the world
Turning violent in the streets
Allow a poet to sleep!
And I feel the ground beneath my wounded fingers
Let the darkness overtake
Suddenly my head is underwater
And the light will pierce the waves
We are fully present

The actor leaves, he’s us now.
Go back up to your bed
(Patch of warmth in the winter)
You’ve nothing to fear there
Is it all in your head?
Ready for a peaceful day of same
Don’t break the magic
Keep us wanting!

Frames of the future throw a clicking blur
Upon smiles of children who never were
Tomorrow never comes to those who wait
A bated breath hides the kindest smile
Then gently lead me to my future
My guide to all worlds past
Take my lungs and hold them close
Pain will never last

Whitewashed scenery soaring by
